Yuu ends up losing to Arisa and funny enough, what Arisa says is pretty true in that compared to the rest of the girls, Yuu isn’t as invested. She is at a point that a fighting gamer would be where they have a knack for it but don’t have the same commitment. More than likely she enjoys it but doesn’t take it seriously. I’m curious if she gets more motivated or sticks to how she is.
Meanwhile, while Aya does lose to Gekido what she does is earn his respect. The term that Mio reminds everyone of a younger Gekido is shown in this moment. Meanwhile, on the other spin, we see Mio beating Cafe Au Lait by simply immersing herself in the game. So much so she doesn’t realize she won. It really shows that Mio is a player who gets hot and cold in a game. Luckily, in two of her games, she was hot. Meanwhile, as Aya looks at Mio, it seems clear that Mio is her ideal for fighting games. But it does feel their relationship is growing beyond that.
Arisa losing to a grappler is funny considering she is a hotheaded kid. But it really shows she is a kid despite being good at fighting games. Though we finally learn of the kid in Arisa’s past, that being Nakamura Miyu. Simply put, she wanted to connect with her first friend, but what we end up seeing is them clash. As Miyu thought, Arisa toyed with her, saying she was a newbie. Competitive games are dicey, and while Miyu overreacted, she clearly had a lot of investment, and a newbie wiping her like that had to bother you. I’m curious if she still feels the same towards Arisa. Sadly, Arisa at this point feels isolated, and the only difference is that she is immersed in fighting games. She more than likely needs a friend if not anything else.
Mio and Arisa facing off next should be interesting, as these two keep on butting heads. Though I wonder if Mio could be the friend that Arisa actually needs.
