As Season 3 continues, one of its notable strengths is how it does a better job at capturing the world-building than the first two seasons do. As Kiroranke mentions the minority groups in Karafuto. Those being the Karafuto Ainu, Uilta, and the Nivkh. We get to see what the Uilta lifestyle is and how they depend on the reindeer. Funny enough, Asirpa is following in Wilk’s footsteps, with Ogata making the same mistake her father made. Of course meeting up with the Uilta was necessary to advance into Russia.
Though I’ve got to hand it to Tsurumi in the fact that even with him back in Japan, he is still making moves. The big deal is alerting Russia about Kiroranke. As he was a part of the revolutionary group that killed Emperor Alexander II. At the very least, this puts Kiroranke’s group in a rough spot.
This episode adapted chapters 159-162. Not too much you can complain about. The staff really did well in the sniper matchup. The only odd choice was not using the narrator for Vasily since he doesn’t know Japanese.
