With the reveal that Bradley is the homunculus Wrath and his son Selim are from Bradley’s side of the family, and then connecting the dots, we can verify that he is a homunculus too. Though unlike the others, he is considered the first homunculus. Curious how that differs from the rest, but he is Pride, in which we have all the homunculi introduced. You do have to feel bad for Riza because her current position just got worse because she has both Pride and Wrath monitoring her.
On the other side of the coin, it is very impressive how Olivia is maneuvering, even though Kimblee assumes orders from Bardley and can do as he pleases. She clearly cares for her man, given that she went past the 24-hour deadline to think that they are dead. Meanwhile, Ed is using the orders to see if he can complete his mission of finding Mei.
Though when Miles and Ed find Scar alongside Winry, we get a great scene. The reminder suffering only brings suffering in the case of Winry; her parents would want to help others rather than hurt them. What really has Scar down is how Agent Miles is progressing because he is the one who is actually trying to make a difference regardless of how tough that will be going forward. The problem with Scar is that him being hurt is justified, but him killing alchemists isn’t.
Much like Oliva, Ed plays around Kimblee really well by having Scar take Winry hostage. Though it is surprising he is willing to put her at risk like that, that is something that she can do. She has been feeling like a liability for most of this series despite how useful she is at managing Ed’s automail.
Though the worst fate is that Olivia was sent back to Central by one of Bradley’s lackeys. As much as Al wants his old body back, in this climate his current condition makes him their only hope. Though will he be able to make it in time? Because if Central gets their hands on Mei they get screwed. Especially considering now that Mei knows the truth of the philosopher’s stone and she is just a kid. She has constantly been shown as having a pure heart, and no doubt understanding lives are sacrificed in making that would make her sick.
