With things wrapping up with protecting Chinatsu and Erina from the Windwheels clan, we can see the similarity between the two girls and that clan. Very much so, both Chinatsu and Kazuma created family bonds to cherish. It feels good to see them pulling back. Also a very nice punch from Erina and much like Ureshino, she is willing to take things into her own hands in a way. Though Chinatsu is also compatible with Hikaru’s potions, she is pure in the same way she is.
Hikaru’s concern about multitiming the girls isn’t a concern that is surprising to see him have. It’s little of him overthinking because so far in the series he has mostly just texted with them. There is real commitment to them, and thus there is no reason they would be mad of them talking to other girls because that kind of jealousy comes from a non-committal situation, which would be a red flag. If he can’t be committed to one 100%, then clearly there shouldn’t be an issue. At the same time, the girl that he chooses must feel that way about him.
Though the next mission comes from Ureshino who requests his aid for her friend Makoto Hime. Although the timid act she has in front of Ureshino is more so making Ureshino comfortable. She has a bit of a bitter, biting personality. At first glance it does feel like she and Hikaru would be a horrible pair. Though for the sake of calling off her arranged marriage, she asks Hikaru to be her pretend boyfriend. At the very least, Hikaru can see that Hime wants to marry someone she comes to love first, not marry her first love second if it happens.
The arranged marriage happened since her father had to take on the duties after Hime’s mom passed away. It is clear that her father went through a lot, but she misses the father who was there for her. The concerning part is the Ghost User and Takeo Heiwajima, who want to push the marriage forward. The real question is what is the reason, and could it have something to do with Hime’s late mother? At the very least, Naruko is back and is aiding in the curse that Hikaru dealt with. Essentially the key for Hikaru against the Ghost User is to not be bound to stress, so hopefully he can do better in round 2.
