Seiran’s death is quite a notable one for this series that pushes the themes that it goes for. We know that Mimi is essentially immortal, and it appears outside of maybe her mother she hasn’t lost anyone. Even then she seems detached about her in a manner where this feels like the first time she experiences loss.
As much as Maud loves Seiran, being immortal should be the choice the person makes, not for the ones we love. We wouldn’t force that upon people that we love. What if they hated being immortal? Could we live with ourselves if we forced that on them? Sadly for Mimi, she didn’t have that choice as well, but of course I doubt that is important for her. Still, it is healthy for humans to accept death rather than rejecting it.
It’s good to see Sheena stepping forward. It is interesting to learn that she uses rejuvenation magic. Curious to learn that it heals more nature than injuries. Most curious is the same magic that Mimi’s mother used. It makes sense why Mimi is drawn to Sheena. So hopefully she continues to push forward.
One of Mimi’s strengths is her pureness when looking at things for what they are worth. Her conversation with Hal regarding her clothes and wanting to help Maud are examples of it. Granted, it is worth noting that this could be something that could backfire when interacting with the wrong people.
