In the beginning of the episode, we have Togusa in contact with Detective Yamaguchi, who ends up in a car crash and dies. Though we learn that the police put Interceptors into the detective’s eyes, which ends up being what causes the car crash and his death. Though it is legal, the lack of paperwork is what is fishy about this. The fact that members of the police have his monitoring on them makes you really question one’s privacy and even what these inceptors can do since it messed with Yamaguchi’s vision. The worst part is that this unethical behavior would barely get you any more information in the Laughing Man investigation.
Though in an interesting turn, we see the Laughing Man in the press conference. He essentially hacked the cyberbrain. Though what did he mean if you ring a performance that is as false as this? I wonder if this could suggest that there are more dark secrets that the police are hiding?
