Interesting episode surrounding the Tachikoma. Sometimes there are things to try to learn and understand too much. For the Tachikoma they don’t have a ghost. For so the major’s concerns of them trying to learn beyond their scope. More than likely it comes from a good place because sometimes going beyond your scope can get you hurt. If they attempted to interact with normal humans, too many uncertainties could happen. No doubt Batou does not like the order because he has come to grow fond of the Tachikoma. Sadly, he understands where the major comes from. They don’t need to have a sense of self, which can be unfair, but they aren’t seen as humans despite being more intelligent than some of the shells that look more human. Interesting example to show that prejudice can exist among different cyber intelligences.
