Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – Episode 10

This episode was probably the most gruesome episode to watch. Though at the same time it added a good amount to Batou. Marco Amoretti essentially not only is killing the victims but also is torturing them. Which is beyond just plain awful. Though they share history, Project Sunset is where they get sent to human enemy territories, in which, after making friends with the locals, they kill the women and children. Ensure the enemy territories lose the will to fight. The real villains are the cops that come from America, as they created this monster but just aim to mark it as an accident so no damage comes from their end. As it is clear throughout the episode, they aren’t sick of what Marco is doing to the villains.

There is concern that Batou would lose control and kill Marco. Of course he doesn’t give Marco the justice of releasing him and killing him. I do like that Batou admits that he thought about giving into the satisfaction of killing Marco. It is not the time to get soaked in the past and remember he is a cop now. I do like that Major ends up saying that he did save one life and the importance of that.
