Wakako Tatsunami gets introduced in this episode. After we have been introduced to all the editors in the magazine, we now essentially meet their boss. She really seems like a nice boss. Though there is a lot of pressure she goes through. The scandal happening before the release of their magazine must have been nothing but stressful. Satou knows what Futami is capable of, which is why she was more than willing to be assigned to do the cover page. Still, hopefully Futami can pull it off.

Next we are introduced to Tsukinawa and she is a designer. This part of the episode was interesting because I think for many manga readers the designers are never thought of when you think of the process. They play a big part, and you can see how in some series, like Sakamoto Days, the covers really pop out. Which can be attributed to the designer’s role. Though she is a bit of a slacker, unlike Futami she seems like a procrastinator. As Futami’s issue is more so confidence.

Lastly, we meet another one of Takizawa’s assistants in Nagomi Hayachine. On the surface we have a very mature girl, which differs from Nashida and Futami. It is interesting to learn that she writes for a seinen adult magazine. As that differs from what is traditionally known as seinen. I think this part of the episode was great as it highlights that just because a series is ecchi or even erotica, it doesn’t mean it can’t have a great story. It does open up Mizuki’s preconceived notions of those types of series. Although saying to be willing to help Hayachine is bold because, well, you wonder what goes into her mind to write and draw the series.
