Daemons of the Shadow Realm – Volume 3

As the twins are a core part of this series. The scariest part is who can they trust? We see the flashback of their father protecting Yuru as a kid, where we can see Yuru resembles him a lot in his presence. It seems groups are trying to kill the twins to get ahold of the seal and break it. It seems that if they acquire a seal or break it, they come back to life. That is how Asa acquired the break. It’s clear that steadied her resolve, but at the same time she still doesn’t have the freedom of being among the Kagemoris, as Yuru points out.

It’s interesting to see the two sides are willing to communicate because both want to respect Yuru’s wishes. Though, as Left and Right mention, dying doesn’t ensure you get the powers of seal or break. But if we recall when Asa obtained that break, she had a choice. More than likely, that person who didn’t revive chose to die. Of course we only know from what break said. As we have yet to meet Seal, if his condition to obtain his power is different from break.

It’s good that Jin and Dera are willing to communicate. More than likely neither side is fully to be trusted. As there have to be parts on either side that are trying to use the twin to their advantage. Consider the assassination attempts on Yuru and how assassins got into the Kagemori manor.

As we see the 3 sons of the Kagemoris, we have Jin, Asuma, and Hikaru. Much like Dera Jin seems like he is trustworthy. Now Hikaru’s daemons, which can erase and restore, are a power tool that could be used to create the invasion at the manor, but I get the feeling that is more a red herring. Asuma is clearly suspicious. As his father mentions, they should break away from the future generations using break and seal. It is one thing to voice an opinion, but the advice that left and right mention is that there are people who will take advantage of the twins power rather than the power being the problem.

There is also an interesting contrast between Yuru and Asa. Yuru who has been protected and shielded from the outside world, isn’t looking to hide and is looking for answers. Even if he hasn’t acquired the seal, he is looking for answers, which is good. Also, it’s clear that Asa has won his trust because it is truly Asa, but his concern is Asa’s fears. It seems clear that her resolve isn’t as tight as she thinks it is, as she latches on to the security of the Kagemoris. In a way she has a bigger prison than she had before, and Yuru’s concerns are very valid.

Before the twins say farewell, it’s a great scene for Yuru to hear from Asa that they wanted to bring him to. For someone who was left behind, hearing those words from her and knowing this is truly his sister is what he needed to hear to push forward.

On another note, Fuyuki’s daemon pair is terrifying because information can be huge. Extracting information from the daemons of some master can really make whoever they are capturing pretty pivotal. Though the concern is if something happens to the head of the Kagemoris, since Hikaru has no desire to lead them. If Asuma is truly the next in line, my gut feelings don’t have a good idea where this could lead.

One thing that is clear is that Dera, in terms of his power, is a great help to Yuru. Creating lost houses can be a good use for hiding, but the concerning part is how another pair of Daemons infiltrated it.
