Got to feel for Kaisei since it seems he’s growing up alone. In his performance he can immerse the audience in how it felt growing up. To say he had a rough upbringing can be said lightly. Though he clung to Issho, I wonder if striving to be him was his goal that kept him pushing forward.
Though more than likely Issho is the one who pushed his failure in the Shin’uchi Exam. Which we all know is very in character for Issho. It’s interesting how both Akane and Kaisei devote themselves to Rakugo. However, Akane had a loving family and didn’t have to choose Rakugo, but she decided on it. While for Kaisei all that he might have in his mind is Rakugo and he is stuck with Issho at this point.
