First, the focus is on Nashida’s character. She is a lot of fun. Her being an assistant of Takizawa alongside Futami is interesting. She essentially self-inserted herself as Futami’s rival, and Futami never realized it. Granted, she looked at the accomplishments and was happy for Nashida. Honestly, Yuu Kobayashi killed, especially in the comedic scenes. It’s interesting that in terms of personalities, she is the polar opposite of Futami. Nashida hates to be alone, while Futami is uncomfortable around people she doesn’t know.

I think they really handled the change in tone when it got more serious. As it was mentioned, Nashida’s series got cancelled. Essentially, getting your series cancelled is the equivalent to being fired, and I think that is something many manga readers forget. The part that hits the hardest is when she mentions in the final chapter of the axed series you get to look forward to their next series. When in reality there is so much uncertainty for them. They don’t even know if they’ll get that chance.

Considering how comfortable Futami is around her, she makes a good addition to the cast. Futami seems more dependable when she is with Nashida. Also, the idea of using Nashida to help with the rival character in Futami’s series is pretty cool. Kind of shows that inspiration from manga really can come from things that happen in the creator’s life.
