A new series from Weekly Shounen Jump, and this one is a supernatural gag comedy much like Witch Watch.
I liked it. Toya unlike the rest of the mages, has magic that is unconventional. His magic feels like stuff that humans would want rather than what a mage would want. It ties to the fact that he is from the world of humans rather than mages. He simply wants to live a peaceful life, and he can empathize when another good person’s peace is taken away.
Unsure where it goes from here, but I am interested in continuing this one. The art isn’t the best, but it is solid enough where it works with what the mangaka is working with. As the chapter got me some laughs. This type of gag comedy would benefit from a bigger cast, so I’m curious if the mom and boy will appear again or if they are one-off characters.
