This was more of a wrap-up episode. After all of it happens Xiaoming returns to the restaurant where his mom still remains. Quite the sad scene fro him because for him this is home where he can still return to if he wants to stop. At least his mom is doing better than she was at the start of the series. As seen in the danger of his allies it was the smart decision to keep her away, but no doubt it hurts not to be able to call her mom.
It does seem the Fake King Lie is onto things. Thankfully they can get things in their favor, but it will require Xiaoming to enter the District Chief Assessment. Well it would make sense that Fake King Lie wouldn’t be aware of their activities forever. Curious how the interactions with the Fake King Lie go from here.
