We finally get the focus on Grim Reaper, who is considered the best assassin in the story. So he didn’t kill Lovro, which is odd, all things considered. He essentially feels like what you should expect from a top assassin. As we have seen with Nagisa he doesn’t seem threatening. But, man, he shows he is beyond deadly and ends up overwhelming the class.
Between the Grim Reaper and Irina’s betrayal, this volume showcased that while the students have come a long way. Plus, with Koro-sensei as trusting as he could be, no doubt he couldn’t see Irina’s betrayal happening.
Though the volume’s real focus here is on Karasuma. As the fallout with Irina happens because he tries to keep things professional. A good direction in this volume shows that being a professional in your field isn’t so cut and dry. As he prioritized the safety of the students over betraying them just to kill Koro-sensei. Karasuma has always been shown to give tough love to his students, but he has always cared for them. Curious how the showdown between him and Grim Reaper will go.
Irina’s character is in an awkward position. She desired to get results by any means. Teachers are always supposed to look after their students, and given the themes that this manga works around, it would be more logical to cut her off. Though there is potential in her making it right before the arc ends, it is a tightrope now. It would not be a good move if she were easily forgiven.
