Assassination Classroom – Volume 13

We arrive after the Grim Reaper’s arc, and he is essentially what you would consider to be an optimal assassin. However, deception can go both ways. A good showcase of this is him thinking Irina was still under his grasp even after he betrayed her. One flaw in the Grim Reaper’s approach is that he has always been alone. Allies are something you need, but trust has to be earned.

It’s interesting to point out that Irina, while technically an adult, isn’t much older than the students. While it’s terrible that she betrayed them, it’s clear she is probably closer to the students than she is to Koro-sensei and Karasuma in terms of maturity. It fits in the theme of Class 3-E that making a mistake is often. Of course, if she betrays the students again, that would go against the themes of keeping her around.

As the students think about their careers, we shift our gazes back to Nagisa whether he wants to be an assassin. We are shown his mom, who clearly lives her life through her son, and it is clear why Nagisa’s parents divorced. More than likely, Principal Asano treats his son the same way Nagisa’s mom treats him. Though more likely the difference is that Principal Asano wants his son to match him rather than Nagisa’s mom, who wants Nagisa to be what she couldn’t.

The mom is more a plot device for the arc for Nagisa to find his way. The big key is that because you have skills to be an assassin doesn’t mean you need to be one. Nagisa could use those skills to help people rather than hurt them. For everyone, they have multiple options with their own talent.

We got the school festival where we once again have Class A coming to beat Class 3-E. Though it’s clear the natural resources they have around them should be used to make the best of their situation. What is more curious is Shiro and does he plan to utilize the Grim Reaper?
