The group has downtime until Tsurumi meets to pick up Asirpa. We get a very absurdly silly episode focusing on Asirpa learning about cinematography. As it is an avenue to tell various stories, the limitation is there being no sound. As Ainu stories are more oral than visual. Still, it’s fun with what Asirpa comes with. Still, she doesn’t realize the power of cinema until there is old footage of her mom and dad. Which she couldn’t have seen without the ability to record events.

Sadly, footage can be lost by mere accidents. Without even being told, she realizes the importance of pushing their stories of the Ainu forward. Reliance on others or technology could result in their culture just being forgotten one day. More and more she is becoming the source to lead the Ainu, even if Wilk never told her.

Still, there is a clear conflict between her and Sugimoto. As he doesn’t want her hands to be bloodied like his. However, it is clear that Asirpa has figured out her path and Sugimoto is really pushing what he wants for Asirpa on her. Essentially it seems he is living his regret on Asirpa as he is living through her in ways. Despite them being partners again, they feel clearly conflicted, and Sugimoto at this point is treating Asirpa as a kid now more than ever.

This episode adapted chapters 204-207. Not too much to add besides it being very faithfully adapted.
