This volume follows the fallout after the tournament. No surprise that the girls at the school heard of Mio’s performance since it trended. It was bound that they playing fighting games would come out in the open. Not to a surprise, all the girls would find it disgraceful. The issue overshadowed Tamaki’s dilemma with her sister, which is now a minor issue in comparison.
What is nice to see is that President Fujimiya has an open mind. It more so comes from the fact that her young sister is Arisa who Mio played against. She didn’t care that girls from her school were playing a fighting game, but rather that her sister had fun playing for the first time in a while. Sadly, only one person can do so much.
The issue then transitions to Mio taken by her mom, and more than likely she will be transferred schools. It is not a surprise that Mio is intimidated by her. Quite the strict parent, but she is definitely happy to see Mio has friends now. Her worries about Mio in terms of video games are definitely old-fashioned, much like the girls views at the school. At the very least, it is good news that Aya is acting normal again, but it will all come down to if Mio can be willing to take a stand against her mom.
