Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games – Volume 6

The entirity of the volume centered around the match between Mio & Arisa. This was a notable match for Arisa because since her fallout with her friend Miyu. She detested those who were able to play with their friends because she lost that connection. It’s clear through her match with Mio that for probably the first time Arisa had fun. Arisa essentially searching for what she wanted as that is the reason she started playing fighting games. The fact she beat Mio solidified in it because unlike with Miyu, Mio doesn’t have hard feelings about losing. She gave it her all.

Mio’s skills were on display and she is as hot and cold as ever. Still it does get mentioned how in fighting games how many times you look for tips and tricks on how to play. Basically playing and adapting to the meta of the game. However what gets lost is the creativity. What if I could do this?  At some point you will hit a roadblock and if you want to be the best of the best you need to be the one that goes for new things. Essentially Mio has the it factor because she thinks herself how she should play. Granted we see with that approach she will have cold streaks, but when she is on fire she could be one of the best.

It is interesting to see Aya frustrated in seeing Arisa and Mio’s match because she really wanted to be that rival for Mio. With her elaving as the match ends probably has her afraid of Mio not wanting to play with her because Mio brought her back into playing fighting games. It defeintly seems like an overreaction from Aya to say the least.
