“You * I Are Polar Opposites” is back with its 2nd season to complete adapting the manga. To put it simply this is more of the same as the first cour. There being more focus on the dynamic between Taira & Azuma. For those that enjoyed the mangakas other series “The Ramparts of Ice” you might like this duo the most out of the 3 pairs.
One thing you notice with the pairs is how each gives you a different element to focus on. With Tani & Suzuki the focus is more on the relationship as they start dating on episode 1. For Yamada & Nishi you have the typical build-up to dating. Though one nice thing about the typical shy male protagonist in these shounen RomComs is Nishi. It being a female makes it a bit refreshing if you don’t watch much shoujo. Azuma & Taira have more character focus and development. Each have their own issues and it is more how the each of them helps the other move forward. The focus prioritizes the two of them as they face their faults and then finds romance.
Production values are standout as it continues to adapt the manga wonderfully so well. Looking at it from an adaptation perspective it is easily 10/10 in this area.
“You & I Are Polar Opposites” is simply one of the standout shows in the past year. You will love it if you love RomComs. Honestly worth a shot unless you simply don’t like the genre.
