As the debut ends, Oguri comes close to beating March. Though you can tell something stops Oguri before she finishes the race. March looks incredibly pissed off, and more than likely it’s because Oguri was bleeding. Though this episode towards the end we really see that March is hypercompetitive as she wants to be the best of her generation, which starts for the Tokai Derby. Now, for Oguri, she enjoys running, but is there anything beyond that?
The role that Belno has played is quite interesting. She essentially was Oguri’s first friend and joined alongside Oguri on Joe’s team. Though we can see that in some ways she is like an assistant trainer, as we learn, she used to work at her family’s Uma Musume sporting goods store.
Now the failed bullies have been such a weird dynamic, but Norn actually has a good moment. It is easy in sports to look down on ourselves if we don’t have that special talent. That is the case for Norn. Where you can be like, I am just going to enjoy myself. Her putting Oguri down was more of a reflection of herself. I’m curious if she looks at her as another special talent or if she could look at Oguri as a source of motivation for herself because we know with Oguri’s schedule she works hard.
The episode ends with the introduction of Tamamo Cross. I’m curious what is up with her.
