The last episode made it clear that this is a trap for Taira to gain power. So much so it is clear that he is using his son in this. He is a snot-nosed brat, but at the same time it is quite fucked up that he is willing to use him as a pawn for his advancement.
The big thing done well in this episode is the matter of choice. Ryumon, Satou and Sugoh are sticking to their guns despite what they are facing: a clear trap. The important thing with a dictatorship with Taira is not to easily succumb and accept it. The final scene of the episode truly illustrates it.
