Eating can be seen as one of the greatest joys in life. However, sometimes we as individuals can develop what are considered unhealthy eating habits. Like many of these things, sometimes we can’t help it. “My Twisted Eating Disorder” shows us that there are people who have these habits. Which is one thing this manga does well because there can be one chapter in here where you can empathize with Kabi as you share an experience that is within some margin of what she went through. Sometimes just understanding that there are others that go through what you went through can be a huge confidence boost.
At the same time, if you are curious about what could be going on in the mind of someone who has an eating disorder, this could be an interesting read.
Now, as given by this title, this volume is strictly Kabi mentioning her eating disorder with her readers. If you are expecting a twist, it is not here. One thing I do like is that Kabi didn’t contain all the explicit details because that would have been too much. The fact that it mostly keeps things as lighthearted as you can with this topic made this a more enjoyable read than I thought it would be. This is the first work by Kabi that I read, and I am now curious about the other manga she wrote.
