Marriagetoxin – Volume 10

The arc with the gun users gets resolved, and well, it has an underwhelming feel to it. Dividing the gun users’ clan between those who would hurt civilians and those who won’t use it is an interesting theme. Sadly, the execution isn’t great since it washes the crime that Miyuki did.

Still, this arc does interest Beppu, who is romantically interested in Kinosaki, which makes for a fun gag that he brings out Beppu’s potential. Though Hikaru getting jealous of Beppu is interesting because he is looking for a wife, one of the strongest aspects of this manga is the dynamic between Hikaru and Kinosaki. Jealousy is a thing that will happen when picking a partner, and despite being a guy, Kinosaki has very feminine features, so you can’t blame Hikaru there.

This upcoming arc is promising because, despite being a water user, we learn that Ushio belonged to the Fire Clan. Which is the family that used to remain on top? It seems Ushio was the child of omen who was to be sacrificed after the dragon had blessed the family. It seems they blamed Ushio for them falling on down times, for which obviously they only have themselves to blame.

As we see, both Hachi and Haisei tried to steer their clan in the right direction. Obviously the other brother and father are disillusioned. So curious what both Hikaru and Ushio aim to do here. Also, are there feelings that Ushio is keeping tucked away?
