This was quite the doozy of an episode. As Cheng went back into the past as Vein we learned that he is the youngest son of a mafia. Though the fact Vein ended up carrying out a failed assassination attempt on Cheng’s father is quite the task to put on Cheng himself. You can kind of see why Vein is borderline insane in the present.
The real doozy comes when Cheng sees what his father is doing. There are these kids imprisoned and his father says he is doing it for them. The fact that his mother knows what he did is probably why she asked Cheng to stay away. It raises the question to the mother of what she wants in bringing back her husband. What really raises the bar is what is going through Cheng’s mind. So much he doesn’t know and this is quite the huge thing to be dropped on him.
Qiao being around Xiao Liu and his forces for dinner was already concerning. As shown at the end of S2, there was a clear transfer of Tianxi’s power to her. The fact that Tianchen sees this is concerning. Though this might be the moment where Qiao realizes she might have powers like Guang and Cheng. The real question is what is Xiao Liu’s play here?
