This was a pretty heartbreaking episode. For Cheng knowing the fates of so many people are about to come to an end and there seems to be nothing more that he can do. We see Guang lie to Cheng so that he doesn’t make the future worse. It is critical to understand how important the nodes are when going back in time. As people’s deaths strike this node. As the risk of saving people from the past is an insane risk.
Granted this doesn’t make the situation any less heartbreaking for Cheng. Not to mention it’s clear he lost his mother in the earthquake and being in Xiao’s position and revisiting makes it even more heartbreaking. Still it’s clear that having knowledge from the future doesn’t make things easy to change things because as shown in this episode nobody believed Cheng.
