A strange episode here. On one hand we see how powerful the love between Siwen and Ouyang is. Not only did he come back year after year to challenge Ouyang’s father, but he even opened up his own dojo. That part of the episode is beautiful.
Just the weird part of this episode is that the father seemed to allow them all to have kids but still not approve of the marriage. I guess this might be one of those episodes that makes more sense understanding Chinese cultural norms. He mentions his grandchild, so they ended up having a kid together. Then what’s the point of refusing the marriage to begin with?
