Kaya-chan isn’t Scary – Volume 5

With Namu being introduced, we are getting more detailed information about the Ebisumori family. We know that the eldest daughter gets powers, but Kaya is a unique case. Though in a more interesting case, Namu holds the last name Ebisumori. He even seems more capable than Nana. There are some similarities in Kaya & Namu as they are both isolated, but given that Kaya is a kindergartener, she has more of a pass among the adults. I do like how Chie is willing to be a manner of support for Kaya.

Though there is definitely something up with Kaya, as Namu shows us. The moments when Kaya exorcises spirits, we see a darkness. It isn’t just Kaya using her strength, but it is something within her. The fact she didn’t remember seeing her grandmother is proof that something is potentially possessing her. Still the innocent girl Kaya Satou does she even exist? Can there be a way to save Kaya?
