While it was obvious that Fatima was acting overconfident. It hurts to see her realizing what has happened. To think Boraqchin pulled all this off. Framing Töregene as the one that poisoned Ögedei and then clearly manipulating the water that ended up killing Tolui. Essentially she achieved or stopped what Fatima as trying to do. She wanted Tolui’s faction to rise, and now they are ruined.
It’s interesting to see Fatima’s perspective because Tolui is who killed the people she cared about at the beginning of the series. She achieved her goal technically, but no doubt how she did it frustrates her to no end.
It’s good for Fatima not to believe that Töregene indulged Boraqchin in her past. More than likely, she highly values Fatima’s intelligence. Good to see Fatima wants to save Töregene. Though it does seem that won’t be easy. Who knows where she is and her son has quite notable social anxiety. I’m curious where this goes with just 2 episodes left.
