Helck – Volume 6

As Helck continues to elaborate on his past, the awakening truly corrupts the mind. Zeru went from a noble warrior to power-hungry, wanting more power. Though it could be argued that power does corrupt the mind. Losing Alicia in the manner he did because she will no longer be the same, and he should have killed her. To add to the misery for Helck, his brother Cless still serves as the key, so in reality both the king and Cless remain in Raphaed & Mikaros’s possession. One thing you can say is that Mikaros is smart for sending Helck to the demon realm because in his berserk state all of humanity is gone.

Now we see that Vermilio is honest with Helck, like how he was just honest with her. Despite Helck pushing out a fake smile to keep moving forward, he has built relations with the demons like Kenros. For Helck he holds the sins of humans, but the demons he met have been so good to him that he wants to at least help them. At the same token, Vermilio asks Helck not to fight, willing to die. She will respect his decision to use the heroslayer if it comes down to it to protect the demons. That is a last option. For the first time there is no doubt in Vermilio’s mind that Helck is a true ally.

Harpii eventually catches up to Vermilio and fills them in on Azudra’s plans. He wants Vermilio to land the attack in the land of humans and to defeat the king. Well, we know how strong both Helck & Vermilio are, and secrecy can be a powerful tool.

Coming off that, we get a look at Asta who is infiltrating the human castle that is deserted. She does learn some valuable information about their plan to attack Castle Shin. Though what is more intriguing is they mention phase two of their plan. It would make sense that there is more to what Raphaed & Mikaros are doing, but what else? There is a book that Asta reads where the words seem to proclaim the revival of our land. Is that their plan?

In a surprising turn, she runs into Shalamy, which we recall was very close to Helck & Cless. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Raphaed’s daughter was spared from the awakening, but you can easily tell how depressed she is. As she is isolated from the world and more than likely the realities of what has happened.

A big reveal is that Mikaros is the one who created the monsters, so it isn’t just the awakened humans they have to contend with. It is even more curious that everything was orchestrated by Mikaros. He can not only create monsters, but he can also cast spatial teleportation spells. What exactly is the power of the new world? We also know that he wants to create a gate, which we saw when Helck & Vermilio got transported. Many questions about what Mikaros’s true aim is. Though he is knowledgeable about demons wanting peace with humans. He is truly evil and aims to manipulate everything possible to do so. A fight between Azudra and him will be very interesting.
