The start of the volume had some interesting reveals. The first being that these Winged Soldiers are humans, which wasn’t too surprising. Though the part where they awakened as heroes and the fact that human Asta mentions that she could find humans is concerning. Of course they aren’t as strong as Helck right now; the concerning thing is they can reach a potential. An army of soldiers with the might of Helck could wipe out nations.
Both Helck & Vermilio get sucked into a spell teleportation. Interestingly enough, as Azurda showed, their location is off the mainland. It definitely leaves the situation with even more uncertainty because how can they save her if they can’t locate her? Though the conversation Vermilio has with Helck is one where Helck feels more sad and serious than normal. Considering Helck saved Vermilio, which he didn’t have to do. At this point it would be a lot for this to be part of an act.
Going back to Castle Urum, we see the demons back there get reinforcements thanks to Azurda and company. It is quite interesting to learn that humans and demons used to coexist, according to him. Granted, it’s clear these humans aren’t going to view things like that. Though we are starting to get a sense of why Azurda is one of the Empire’s Elite Four.
