Golden Kamuy – Volume 7

We are first introduced to Inkarmat, who is a very interesting character to add to the cast. As her ability to see the divine is definitely an interesting skill of hers. To add to that, her predictions are very spot-on when she goes with Shiraishi to bet on races. Though it is quite evident that she has some connection with Asirpa’s father, what is that connection? Of course, Asirpa being on guard seems fair, as Asirpa has been someone who decides how things go forward for her. Of course no one can accurately predict everything correctly, as Kiroranke outmaneuvering in a rigged race is an example of that.

Interestingly enough, meeting Asirpa’s great-aunt gets them to meet the American Dunn, who is part of the information Shiraishi got. The immortal bear that was feared was simply 3 bears, and I do wonder if this is to highlight that Sugimoto is not some immortal demon despite his reputation. Interestingly enough, in this base there is the Yakuza who wanted to rig the horse race and who also assisted with the group in Barato that Hijikata’s group took out. A very bizarre incident, but another tattooed skin is collected from the Yakuza leader.
