This episode slows things down a bit as it introduces two characters, Mokutarou Kikuta & Rikimatsu Ariko who seem like allies to the 7th Division. We see both of their prowess as they go after Toni. Ariko showcasing his Ainu skills is quite interesting. As that is how he beats Toni. Most curious is a conversation between Kikuta & Ariko as Ariko disappears for a few days. Their aim seems to be to win over Tsurumi’s favor rather than accomplish his ideals.
The 7th Division side of the story covered the end of chapter 191 all the way to chapter 195, as well as the 2nd half of chapter 196. It looks good for the next episode to adapt Koito’s flashback chapters, which is needed. Since the anime skipped it when Ogata called him, it is good for Koito to ask Tsukishima what barchonak means in Russian. That happens later in the manga, but putting this conversation here creates a smoother transition to the next episode.
