As we start surveying with Asirpa’s group, we see them entering the former Ainu Village in Karafuto. This is where Wilk was born. As Kiroranke mentions, because of the conflict between Japan & Russia, Japan handed over Karafuto to Russia. As Japan left, Karafuto was neglected, and now all that remains of the former Ainu Village. This perhaps signals the clue that what Wilk & Kiroranke fought for. Still more mysteries remain regarding Wilk. What is Kiroranke’s aim here?

Hajime’s backstory is quite the tragic one. Essentially was a delinquent of sorts. But he had a woman he loved by the name of Igogusa. Though after coming back and she was gone, Hajime killed his father. In death row prison, he stayed there until Tsurumi came and picked him back up. Tsurumi mentioned that Igogusa married into a higher-up family. Tsurumi wanted Hajime as his right-hand man.

After nine years, Tsurumi lies come out. Though it gets mentioned that her bones were dug up near Hajime’s home. So no doubt his anger comes out of Tsurumi using him because he is too good to rot in prison. Though he mentions that it is a cover-up to Hajime, it seems Tsurumi wanted Hajime to know that. The only thing that is clear is that he wanted Hajime as his right-hand man, and it is clear that was accomplished in the flashback. When you consider it has been 9 years since Tsurumi recruited him, you can’t blame him for not fighting back. This builds off from the Ogata flashback in the manner that Tsurumi is very charismatic, but here he is presented as manipulative as hell.

This episode finished adapting the rest of volume 15 by adapting chapters 148-150. Simply put, the tighter pacing in this season really is improving the season so far.
