As Inkarmat illustrates, now that Sugimoto’s group has been betrayed by Hijikata’s group, only Tsurumi can save him. Of course there is the problem about Tsurumi getting the gold, but Inkarmat doesn’t care about that. She only cares for the safety of Tanigaki, Wilk, & Asirpa. A bit of reflection on what Nihei mentioned about women being terrifying.
It was very impressive of Asirpa to stick with Hijikata until she knew where Noppera-bou was. Though Hijikata presses forward and seems to be tangled with Inudou. From that we can see Noppera-bou trying to get away. But ending up confronting Sugimoto. Which makes for a most interesting cliffhanger.
This episode adapted chapters 131-135, ending when Sugimoto meets Noppera-bou. Though the episode cuts the fight between Hijikata and Inudou. Will it show that confrontation, or could it just cut it to focus on the things the anime needs to cover? Given that there is only 1 episode left, it is understandable, even if it is a bit disappointing.
