Sad to see Sofia go, but she did what she wanted for Asirpa. I do like Wilk’s quote regarding revolutionaries and not getting kids involved. After all, kids are born into this world but are given a choice. Adults need to protect them, and Sofia aimed to protect Asirpa even at the cost of her own life. Still tough to see Asirpa seeing another of her comrades killed.

Tanigaki coming back into the fold wasn’t expected, but both he and Inkarmat didn’t take long to think to help Asirpa. After all, he has his debt to pay to Huci.

I like the conversation between Sugimoto and Hijikata on the train, where Sugimoto talks about his conviction to help Asirpa. Hijikata says what Sugimoto described is Bushido. He calls it meddling, but it is more than that for Sugimoto. His pride and his kindness are shown, as that is who Sugimoto really is.

With that being said, they are aboard a train with the 7th division, and now Ogata kills the train driver. Ogata causing madness as usual. It should make for an exciting finale when the series comes back next year.

Chapters 298-302 were adapted in this episode. NGL they really had to cram to get to the endpoint they wanted, which probably is the worst-looking episode of this season. At least they got a year to improve on the quality so it is closer to the Sapporo Beer Factory episodes.
I do think the studio did a good job with Sofia’s death and having Tanigaki there. to save Asirpa.
