At the start of the episode, we get a flashback to Himmel trying to pump up his party. Kind of is a reminder that there is no concrete way to do this. Himmel’s leadership by itself helped Eisen. Meanwhile, for the two girls, their friendship is how they help with tension.
The plan Frieren comes up with is interesting. Essentially, try to limit the areas where the Stilles are located. By doing that, you can force the Stilles to be forced to go into a limited number of water spots. Thus, which allows Frieren to capture them when she is suppressing her mana.
The interesting part of this is a mage named Denken is aware of Frieren’s plan. His idea was to know that they figured out a strategy. His remark about first-class mages being more of a symbol of power rather than just being a powerful mage. Charisma might be an underrated skillset for them. As we also see with Wirbel’s group, one way to get a Stille is to steal another team’s Stille. In that case, you really get to see the mages skills as they fight for the Stille. Makes you wonder how many Stilles are available.
This episode wrapped up the last few pages of chapter 38 as well as chapters 39 and 40. Pretty good end spot for this episode to jump into action when the next episode starts.
