The first half of the episode touches on a theme of being around others improves the experience. Even in the bad ones, like the Boshaft. Though it’s a reminder that at times the anticipation can be a better experience than when you actually get to experience it.
The 2nd half of the episode highlighted more on the troubles in the Northern Region. It seems the grandfather invested in Himmel’s party when most didn’t. At a glance, it would seem what the grandson is doing to Frieren is cruel. But much like his grandfather, he wants the best for his people. Frieren isn’t really bitter about it because she still has a debt to pay. Finding the silver is surely a step to improve such conditions.
