Also, we even got Stark asking Fern on a date for a nice change. This side of the episode was a nice focus on Frieren & Fern’s relationship. While it is true that she learned about Fern through Heiter first. As Stark said, it shouldn’t take away that she knows these things. That shows that she cares for Fern in her own way. Though Fern should limit the advice she gets from Frieren.
The only thing was extending the fight to where Stark gets used as bait, which bothered me a tad. Not a big deal, but why, basically?
The rest were good additions.
- Having a nice joke showing how tough it was going down was good.
- They went crazy with the new Frieren stuff.
- Her meeting Stark in front of the door was an anime original.
- They extended the panel of Frieren wailing, which was insane and perfect.
- The entire ending of the episode was based on the extra page at the end of chapter 66.
They adapted chapter 65 and the majority of 66. Honestly, I do like leaving the last 2 pages of 66 for the next episode, as the transition from 66 to 67 is smooth.
If the fact that 65 had to happen before 66 & 67, I would think they would rather adapt 66 & 67 together. But they did well here.
