Egatae – Episode 7

Well, now it all makes sense why Neko has not been seen. She is a minor who doesn’t really interact much with others. Which does have me a bit concerned. Though she is an example of how talented some in the industry can be at such a young age. Though I am surprised Satou was able to give her an assistant gig, though.

It’s fun to see how Touko & Mizuki interact with each other. Also, Touko really has good chemistry with all the girls. Though she, like the rest of them, has her own downs with her job. Well, it’s a reality that when an adult starts working, not everything will be ideal.

The last part was a real showcase of when a successful mangaka starts getting more attention. Whether joining a different magazine and demographic or working on a spinoff to a mangaka they served as an assistant. Futami loves the attention, which I 100% understand, but she knows her boundary.

Lots of yuri subtext in that final scene. Satou doesn’t want anyone to have Futami so she suggests they do another series under her. I do hope she realizes Futami is barely floating above water with her one series. More than likely she got inspired by the ideas in Futami’s head. It feels like it is more a point that mangakas usually have so many ideas for stories, but the real trouble is having the time to practically be able to serialize any of those stories. Hell, just having one successful story is a big accomplishment, I would think.
