Dusk Beyond the End of the World – Episode 1

In all honesty, episode 0 & this should have been together in a 1-hour premiere. With this episode, the show really gets a solid start.

First things first, one detail you notice is how Akira is about to understand those villagers. Given that he is alive and we don’t know the timeframe, it is more than likely that with what was his impending death, he was used as a test subject in Towasa’s LC Project. Though unlike Yuugure, he still seems human. I guess more than likely they could have made him an android but made him basically the same human as he was before.

Small downtime, but it did a good job at showcasing how the world has evolved. The first is that it seems like society has gone backwards, like Dr. Stone was after its episode 1. What was the real trigger for that? We have a society called OWEL, and the first impression is that they seem awful. But they are an organization that governs the world; it sounds awful. Forgetting just Japan in this case. Lastly, there is nothing of marriage, but rather it is called Ehlssea. It’s a group coming together. I get the sense it doesn’t have to be out of love. Imagine a typical marriage, but someone’s younger sister or brother is a part of it; it could be an example. Or just a group of friends.

Like I said before, Caniss was beyond awful. Thankfully saved Akira, Idhi & her father, and kicked ass. Was a bit confused at the end, but given the Seiyuu is Yui Ishikawa, which is the same as Towasa’s Ai from episode 0. Akira wanting to find Towasa makes sense, but would she even be alive? More than likely she could be in a similar case like Akira, and maybe she hasn’t woken up yet or is detained by OWEL.

Very promising start.
