Dorohedoro – Volume 8

Interesting to learn how sorcerers generate their smoke from their organs. Thus, if you target those organs, it makes dealing with dangerous sorcerers much, much easier. It does add up that Noi got taken down easily, especially since she has been shown to try to tank many hits. Though much like Nikaidou, Shin isn’t dependent on his magic, so he can still hold his own.

One thing that Noi is lucky about is her healing and durability. Most of them, if they fought against an enlarged man, would have died easily. Though the fact that magic can be used like that is terrifying. At least one layer of good news is that the professor’s wife is still alive, but she is now a devil. At least one layer of good news is that there is another Devil that can be seen as an ally. It seems much like Asu, she became a devil from the trial. Though Asu himself looks to be in a bad position.

The focus is back on Nikadiou and Caiman, and we are now learning more about the cross-eyes. It seems the purpose of the crosseyes is to provide black powder for people who can’t use magic like sorcerers. It makes sense why En is seen as an enemy, and at this point, whoever Caiman was as a human, he was a part of this group. Furthermore, it does feel like Caiman and Nikaidou will be learning more about them as they travel with Natsuki. It makes a clear clash with En down the line inevitable.

The other side of the cross-eyes is Risu as we know the clear connection between him and Caiman in some way. It is clear that Dokuga knows something about Risu’s death. Why can’t he kill Risu? Also, it is clear Aikawa is important given the flashback for Risu. We know that Caiman will be travelling to Berith, so it makes him and Risu crossing paths at this point inevitable.
