Well, Caiman truly went on his own separate way from Nikaidou, but funny enough, he found himself in the hands of another restaurant owner. He is hired by Tanba and also meets Fukuyama, who is a waitress there. Granted, it was good for him to want to earn his keep because Nikaidou was very generous with him.
In this volume we got the backstory of how Noi & Shin met, and funny enough, those two couldn’t have had a worse first impression. Though hired by En, Shin and Noi started getting along. The more interesting thing was that Noi wanted to be a devil and had to stop using magic for a year. In an attack she uses her magic to save Shin’s life. It does have the feel that she fell in love with him. It does make me wonder what the benefits of being a devil are compared to being a sorcerer.
With Blue Night coming into the Sorcerer world, it seems it is a time when they form partnerships. Lots of stuff is happening, from Noi getting attacked and Shin being kidnapped to Caiman and Risu crossing paths and Caiman not being able to do much about it.
Still a more interesting plotline is that Nikaidou is the one that killed the owner of En’s smoke shop, and he is able to sniff her out. The fact that the mushroom that he created from Nikaidou’s back is just the source of it is just terrifying. We really haven’t seen Nikaidou’s magic yet, but supposedly she can manipulate time, which is who En is looking for in a partner.
Though the attack on the restaurant gave her the resolve to want to use her mask, which is stated to enhance a sorcerer’s magic. Though En is able to send the group with Nikaidou to the sorcerer world. Curious how things continue from this point.
