Delicious in Dungeon – Volume 6

It shouldn’t have been a surprise that Laios thought it would have been fine to tell Shuro that they used black magic to resurrect Falin. Though it isn’t until we have seen Falin’s news that we realize how dangerous the situation is. While Marcille’s point of magic is how you use it, it is clear she didn’t think  things through clearly. Obviously her emotions of wanting her friend back had taken root. At this point Falin has the soul of the Red Dragon, but thanks to the Lunatic Magician, she is given even more.

Kabru you can tell at this point he hates monsters, but his point of Falin being a monster is valid. Though quite cruel in that Falin’s soul is there as well. So it really turns into a fucked situation. Still, the goal of Laios is now to defeat the Lunatic Magician. Well, they did defeat the Red Dragon when it seemed impossible. In fact, it is likely they can do it. The real question is the power that comes from defeating the Lunatic Magician isn’t what Laios is interested in. As Kabru points out. At the very least, Shuro is finally heading back. It is clear he truly loves Falin, but as Laios and Senshi pointed out, he needs to take care of himself first.

Of course it was shown that Laios encountered the Lunatic Magician before. She aims to find the last king of the Golden City over 1000 years ago. So surely the Lunatic Magician would know this. Perhaps she aims to revive him much like Falin was revived. The encounter with the shapeshifting monster was a nice way of showing how the party members view each other. Chilchuck looks at Laios as a giant. Senshi thinks lowly of the concept of magic.

Currently the party has a member from each of the races, and when Izutsumi found out that Marcille used black magic, that made her stay behind. She is an engineered man-beast, and much like Falin she has two souls in her. Still, the good news for Laios is that while Falin can’t return to her old self like we see with Izutsumi we can see she still can regain her old personality. As we saw, the old Falin still exists. Though through Izutsumi we finally have an occurrence of bad table manners. It’s funny to see Senshi getting riled up, but his point is that every tool has a manner in which it needs to be wielded to be fully effective. Of course there is Senshi’s pride talking too, but how one wields a weapon is important.

One concern is how Marcille is holding up because ever since encountering the Red Dragon, they have been through so much. Though for Marcille, the situation with Falin is another occurrence of her losing those she holds dear. Of course, elves live a long lifespan, but it appears that this has taken a great toll on Marcille. It’s good to see Laios help her move forward because while she can dwell on the past, they need to move forward. Even if they can’t get Falin’s soul to take form, at the very least they can give her peace.
