Delicious in Dungeon – Volume 14

You know, with many stories, many times the original goal gets sidetracked. But the group still needs to save Falin and having all the races and people that the party meets along the way come really gives the series the proper way to conclude things. Even with that, we got Laios becoming the king, which is more of a play to get the dwarves and elves to listen to everyone. Still, it does keep Marcille from being in trouble, and staying with the Touden siblings is what she will love.

Kabru and Mithrun’s relationship is one that, throughout the course of the series, really was quite nice. Though now that the demon is done, what else does Mithrun have to live for? Kabru makes a great point that even if the demon ate Mithrun’s desires, that doesn’t mean he lost the ability to gain new desires. Mithrun just needs to be pushed. This is also showcased well when Marcille has no desire to do her hair. Which is something simple, but relearning that can give her that desire back. The main message is that if you reach a low point with a lack of desires, you are still leading your life.

The manga ends where they finally get Falin back. This manga has so many strong points with its comedy, world-building, and deep-layered storytelling. The thing that makes this work as well as it does is that it stays true to itself as a gourmet series. It’s what aids in each of this and never goes away from its identity.
