In the chapter following the one from 2 weeks ago, we see that Okarun is practicing controlling his Chi. Which is what we had seen Momo doing in her childhood and Jiji after he joined the gang. Makes sense, as he isn’t reliant on his powers, and it feels like a natural transition.

We finally get the reunion of Momo & Okarun and Jiji handles it the worst way that you can do it. Though looking from Jiji’s angle, it becomes a little more understandable, because she remembers him, and when you think about it, their dynamic hasn’t changed much. Like when Jiji was first introduced, the whole issue of Momo being teased about being psychic was already dealt with. They are hitting it off as old friends, like when Jiji was introduced. Meanwhile, for everyone else, shit is fucked up as they don’t flat out remember her.

Honestly, thinking about it now, it has me thinking Tatsu been planning this amnesia thing for a while. Ever since, at least he split the group up. As stated, Jiji & Momo’s relationship hasn’t changed. Vamola’s personality is much more positive about reconnecting on Momo than dwelling on what happened.
Overall, I do have a better feeling going forward since Okarun is tackling the problem rather than being afraid of it. He is trying to be what Momo was for him early in the series, as she wanted to spend time with him.
