With a bit of backtracking, we see that Jin was able to track Akio and Ivan because his scent was left on the gardener that Jin wished to bury. Thus Jiro can find their way to the Nishino lair. Though it is good that they have a lead on them.
As Yuru has chosen to move forward from Higashi Village, dealing with both the Zashiki-warashi pair as well as the Azama isn’t easy. For the pair, they miss Kyouka a great deal, but going back to the village is a terrible decision. The more difficult part is for Azama because returning to her father would be the logical thing to do. Still, it is difficult to be comfortable with what the adults become in Higashi Village and how they view Yuru and Asa. What is the right decision for a sweet girl like Azama?
The trio of Asa, Gonzo, and Fuyuki is a deadly trio. However, the creation of a new Daemon pair does offer a counter against Fuyuki. For someone like Akio who is on the run, that makes him the perfect daemons to use as a shield. As Left mentions, they are immature because they resemble the dead bodies from before. Quite cruel to not let people pass even after death.
Misasagi comes out to the Kagemori manor. Well, one thing is for sure: he is more than what the Kagemoris can do. His mention that he only needs Asa’s head is quite concerning, as we know they can generate new Daemons. Implying only needing the head feels like something different. Or does how they generate daemon source come from the head? Misasagi is insanely strong with his Daemons Heaven and Earth. They can fire from above and below. It begs the question, how would you stop that?
We get a flashback of Jin as we learn that after Asuma’s mother passed away, he wanted a mother figure in the family. Jin’s mother wanted nothing to do with the Kagemori, but at the same time took the child support money. It makes sense why Jin has a very tense relationship with his father. He had nothing and begged for a place to stay. More than likely he figured he would be a burden for a kid he never knew. We can see why Jin is such a diligent worker because he thinks he always needs to earn his place. Him calling his father “Old Man” was him being more casual than saying “sir.”
Still, Misasagi is correct about Gonzo’s strength also being his weakness. He is too reliant on Hyakki Yoko to make sure all of his daemons behave. Take them out; Gonzo’s strength is much lessened. At this point Gonzo’s on his last leg, and the place that Asa had as her security blanket is about to be reduced to rubble. Still, Gonzo sacrifices himself so that Jin can escape. Showing that he loves his family even if his methods can seem cruel.
Still, it seems Asuma is bound to take the reins as the new family head. At least there is clear trust with him now. Still, I can’t imagine how Hikaru is taking it.
Haruo truly has it in his heart to welcome back his Akio. Not surprisingly, things don’t go smoothly for him. Though Ivan is quick to come back, that sends the alert to Yuru, Left, and Right for their rematch. Curious how the fight goes since Yuru mentions that they won’t hold back to ensure they take him alive since they are allied to Fuyuki now.
