Daemons of the Shadow Realm – Chapter 52

This chapter offered a nice focus on Hikaru because now, with Gonzo dead, the Kagemoris are going through many changes. Jin being missing just adds more, and of course Asuma can’t handle it on his own. The conversation with Jin’s mother really points out that he needs to help this family. Among the brothers, Hikaru was definitely an idealist, and as Gabby mentions, the real world isn’t kind.

It is sad that Hikaru basically doesn’t have the option of drawing for his manga again. Perhaps some assistants could make that work. Though it is the reality of the situation.

Gabby’s conversation with the Doc is depressing because even with Dera and Asuma in an alliance, there is merit for them having Asa’s powers under their control. As Asa’s abilities are strong. Still, Asa is her own person and should be allowed to live her own life. It’s a reality as long as she possesses the ability to break people; people will be seeking out to control her. The same with Yuru as long as he has the potential to receive Seal. Though at least Yuru can be independent, Asa’s mental strength is nowhere near her brother’s.

Still, it is nice to see the twins bonding, where we see Asa has experience traveling. Still, trouble is about to come.
