Assassination Classroom – Volume 6

At the start of the volume, we got a nice short arc centered around Meg Kataoka. It was a good example of how bad dependence and guilt can affect oneself. It was good to see Koro-sensei and the students help Kataoka out because she shines among the students. Even the smartest of minds will falter if they are forced to do too much, which seems to be why Kataoka ended up in class 3-E.

Terasaka’s arc was a little frustrating because he was being used by Itona and Shiro. At the very least it was cool to see the students being there for Koro-sensei. It really shows that they want to be the ones to take down Koro-sensei. Good thinking by Karma, since both Koro-sensei and Itona share the same weaknesses.

With final exams looming around, we are introduced to Class A and Principal Asano’s son, Gakushu Asano. Much like his father, he is very intelligent and perceptive. Although it appears that he knows that his father is hiding something, which we know is Koro-sensei. It is clear that the bet is him getting that information. The chess match we see is not only Class A vs. Class 3-E, but also father vs son.
