As Ikken says, the basis of Rakugo is to tell a story, not just act. Of course you could repeat the story to the crowd, but that won’t draw them; she has to do more work than when she does her voice acting. Of course Hikaru rises to that pressure. As she utilizes all of her skills in a flawless performance. Her voice acting skills and the anger that she feels about wanting to top Akane.
